Production – Rigid Pipes
Pours PVC compounds into the catch basis and feeds the material in the extruder machine; feeds compounded extrusion material during the extrusion process; ensures no spillages of compounded materials resulting in raw material losses.
Place the pipes in the designated piling area of the extruder machine.
Checks produced pipes for specifications and print conformity; segregates non-conforming pipes from the conforming pipes; counts, bundles and ties the produced pipes in accordance with the specified no. of pipes per bundle; carries the bundled pipes to the designated post-staging area.
Counts the pipe bundles that conforms to product quality based on standard specifications / criteria.
Reports immediately to the Production Supervisor and/or Production Line Engineer any abnormalities observed/encountered during the extrusion operation.
Segregates rejected or damaged pipes into designated containers or areas for further Quality Assurance (QA) disposition with complete identification.

Record the actual time and temperature in the Mixing Process Monitoring Report in accordance with the mixing sequence.
Prepares/fills-up all other production registers, logbooks, reports as required in an accurate and timely manner.
Extrusion
Set the temperature profile of the extrusion machine/equipment in accordance with existing standards required for the product grade being produced.
Checks to ensure that the temperature of the zone heaters and die hard are set to required levels before the start of the extrusion process.
Turn on the extrusion machine/equipment and increase the settings/speed gradually.
Observe and ensure that the powder comes out first from the die-head before turning the ON button intended for vacuum.
Operates the extruder machine/equipment in a careful and efficient manner.
Set and stabilize the parameters of the extrusion process to the desired values once the pellets come out from the die-head.
Conducts visual inspection of pellets in the pellet cooler every 30 minutes to ensure good quality output; monitors and checks that the transport tubes and blower motors are working accurately, including other downstream.
Records into the extrusion process monitoring (EPM) the accurate reading of operating parameters, product grade report, shutdown/start-up times, laboratory samples, production input/output; as well as any abnormal activities during the production shift.
Pack the output product in 25 kg. or jumbo bags and sew them shut accordingly; Checks to ensure that each bag is weighed accurately as per standard weight before sewing and/or sealing.
Arrange the finished products per pallet in either 40-bags or 50-bags configuration.
Attach the proper labels in the finished products, i.e. bag #, shift, operator’s name, supervisor’s name, product grade, lot #, etc.

Conducts equipment checking before and after any run based on an established equipment checklist.
Conducts machine shutdown during change-grade and change-screen activities.
Maintenance

Ensures that the weighing scale and bag closer are in good working condition.
Performs the daily equipment checklist, both before and after production operations, under the guidance and monitoring of the Production Engineer.
Provides assistance if necessary in corrective maintenance or preventive maintenance (PM) activities conducted by Maintenance personnel under the guidance and monitoring by the Production Engineer.
